Dropmyemail is in the business of backing up the Internet and it is a journey of a thousand steps. One of those steps would be the rollout of its ability to backup email provider, FastMail and allow users to use our myriad of tools to enhance their email experience.

FastMail’s gained popularity among power users who want to be customers instead of products and love its processing speed. It was so good at what it does that Opera acquired FastMail in 2010.
FastMail’s speed comes from using less CPU and RAM than its peers. Its usage is small and stable – using fewer resources than Gmail or most Windows desktop clients such as Thunderbird, Outlook and emClient.
It is in fact gathering even more fans as it rolled out a brand new AJAXy UI.

Though FastMail is not a perfect product – its fatal flaw thus far is its migration process. Check out Joe Brockmeier’s experience migrating from Gmail to FastMail. The actual migration was problematic at times with a lot of e-mail and the transfer failed a few times. Part of that is because Gmail doesn’t follow the normal IMAP conventions for folders. If you add multiple labels to something in Gmail, that gets translated into IMAP-world as having multiple copies of it in different folders. So if you were using two gigs of space on Gmail you could easily be using six at FastMail because of this duplication.

Email migration should not be a fish-out-of-water experience
Dropmyemail comes in here to plug that gap. With a one-click secure cloud to cloud backup and email migration function, it is not going to get any easy than this. Just take a look at this video here:

Also, Dropmyemail functions on automated an incremental system, meaning that there will not be duplicates of emails backed up. This saves space – no longer do you have to worry about having to delete emails/files/data/content just to fit your storage limit. As most people would just use FastMail’s IMAP service with desktop, web and mobile clients, Dropmyemail has no problem in backing up its inbox, outbox, drafts, trash and all other folders.
